PRP: Platelet-Rich Plasma

The Essence of Regenerative Medicine

The human body has a remarkable capacity to heal itself. Here at Bella Fiore, we now offer one of the most advanced and effective natural treatments for rejuvenation so you can age gracefully, maintain your vibrancy, or repair what is damaged.

Through the power your own Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), we can accomplish regeneration of tissue and function by the signaling of your stem cells. PRP addresses aesthetic concerns such as wrinkled or sagging skin, frown lines, acne, scarring or rosacea.

Dr. Summer Beattie, ND and PRP Expert, is available to see patients for PRP on Thursdays through Bella Fiore Klinik, located directly next door to us, from 11am-7pm.

How PRP works:

A PRP treatment begins with a simple blood draw, spun in a cutting edge centrifuge that separates the plasma from the blood. The plasma is spun again to highly concentrate the platelets.  Reconstituting this rich collection of platelets in a small amount of plasma is what gives you PRP. Then transferred into syringes, the PRP is ready to be injected, or microneedled into the treatment area. The growth factors in the PRP stimulate the creation of new, youthful tissue in the face.

The amount of PRP used per treatment and number of treatments necessary is based on an individual’s condition, lifestyle, nutritional state, hormonal sufficiency, and other health factors, as well as the patient’s goals. The efficacy of your PRP treatment will be dependent on these variables as well as the quality of your platelets.  After all, your PRP is only as good as your overall health!

Important too, is how your practitioner creates and applies the PRP.

PRP Facelift or Facial?

One of the most common questions Dr. Beattie receive from patients trying to decide between the PRP Facelift and the PRP Facial. With the PRP Facelift, the focus is about replacing volume loss and treating deeper lines. In most people, as we start to age, we have specific patterns of aesthetic aging that most of us follow. This includes volume loss at the cheeks, smile lines, crows feet, lip lines, and furrowing between the brows. We inject the PRP into those fat pad areas to replace that volume loss and to treat any deeper lines and wrinkles. This also helps with elastin and collagen production, and to restore a natural, more youthful shape to the face.

With the PRP Facial, we use a microneedling pen, which involves restructuring the surface texture, the fine lines and overall appearance of the skin. If you have, skin laxity, hyperpigmentation, irregular texture, scarring or dullness to the skin, the Facial may be the best option. Both treatments can be done at the same time to receive double the benefits.

ABOUT

Dr. SUMMER BEATTIE, ND

Dr. Summer Beattie, ND, born and raised in Alaska, completed her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at La Sierra University in California, and in 2004 received her graduate degree as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine at Seattle’s Bastyr University. She spent nearly eight years in primary care and served two terms on the Board of Directors for the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians before accepting a position at a varicose vein surgery center in Alaska.

Throughout her career, she worked concurrently in deluxe spas and medical aesthetic clinics. These experiences affirmed for Dr. Beattie that she was the most skilled at serving her patients in a specialty care setting. Upon returning to Washington, Dr. Beattie pursued training with physicians and organizations setting the standard of care in Platelet-Rich Plasma in both orthopedic and aesthetic medicine.  This included becoming a Certified Vampire Practitioner and joining StudioPRP as an affiliate trainer, teaching physicians how to best use PRP for aesthetic, sexual health and wellness needs.  Dr. Beattie is passionate about giving patients foundational resources and support for overall health and not simply offering procedures.

The robustness of the healing that PRP can give is directly related to the vitality of the patient, the way the PRP is processed and the method of delivery.  Bella Fiore has built into their protocols strong naturopathic principles that ensure best patient outcomes.
